Why success?

The statement 'Failure is the pillar of success' has been in use for centuries and has also been effective for those who had tried hard for it.But the main question is "WHY DO WE WANT SUCCESS?".Isn't failure the easiest achievement.So why do we even try to succeed?

The answer here may appear confusing but truths are never good to digest.Before going into why we all are behind success,we must know what that success is?For a student it is achievement,for a mother it's the smile of her children,for a father it's fulfilling the childs' needs and so on.
Whoever you may pick,for all of them success means to higher than the other.Considering the anomalies of this case there might be some who would have stability as their reference of success.
   With such definitions there appears a lot of webbed answers.But you see Osama bin-Laden he succeeded in what he aimed,Obama succeeded in killing him,British succeeded in capturing India & Gandhiji succeeded in providing us our freedom.
So here we see success has different frame of references.Then how can we say that there can be only one answer to the question.
But there is.
Is it fame that drives us towards success?If that would have been  the prominent reason for why we aim for success then what about a carpenter who feels he has succeeded in completing his work ?

So if it is not fame what is it?
We are humans and we have a life .What  is our sole aim in life?
It is SURVIVAL.
We all are survivors.But how do we know we are alive?We know it when somebody talks about you,when somebody remembers you,somebody feels your presence and people think you are there for them.By this you know you are alive?

What's more in the life than knowing that you are alive?So success is the image of our aspiration to remain alive .

So we aim for success because we want to live this life knowing that we are useful.
This doesn't appear convincing right.Let me show you.

A student wants achievement so that people always talk about him.Parents want their children to respect them,this gives them the sense they are alive.Carpenter makes a furniture and the user knows that the carpenter is there to mend it in case of any breakage.

We all are here,we all have got the ability to do it,so that we would be useful and stamped as alive.
